Are your investments optimized to your goals?
Managing investments can be tricky. Balancing your risk tolerance, long-term needs, investment options, contradicting online financial advice, and the fluctuating market can easily make your head spin. How do you determine what is best for you? What should your diversified portfolio include? Where should you invest? A financial advisor can help analyze your portfolio to ensure it is optimized to your financial situation and provide recommendations on additional investment opportunities.
A few of the ways that Planned Ahead can help you with your investments include:
Current Investment Portfolio Reviews & Rebalancing
Is your portfolio diversified appropriately and aligned with your risk tolerance? Are you currently invested in the right types of investments? Do you have too much of an investment focus on one or a few companies increasing your risk? Do any of your investments include high fees? These are all questions that your advisor will work with you to answer to help balance and optimize your portfolio to your needs.
Investment Recommendations
With many investment options available, it can be difficult to compare your options with varying complexities such as fees, tax implications, investment terms, and interest rates. Your advisor can explain your available options and help you identify which options are most beneficial based on your risk tolerance and goals.
Investment Management
As a division of Godsey & Gibb Wealth Management, we offer access to investment management services through Godsey & Gibb’s in-house investment team. These services are separate from your Planned Ahead financial planning services and allow us to manage your investments for you if you prefer a more hands-off approach.
Planning for Windfalls
Windfalls are large sums of money such as a bonus or inheritance that you receive all at once. Your advisor can help you balance using the funds for something like a bucket list trip or home renovation in the near-term versus adding the funds into your investments for your or your family’s future.
Withdrawal Planning
Withdrawing money from your investment accounts can have implications on your retirement savings and income tax. Your advisor can work with you to determine what impact a withdrawal from these accounts would have, what your tax implications would be, how to minimize any financial impact, and if any options exist other than a withdrawal.
Does your investment strategy align with your future goals?
Our Financial Advisors can work with you to understand your future financial needs and what investment strategies would be most effective.
Common Investment Questions:
Should I continue managing my investments on my own or should I use your in-house investment management services?
This service is completely optional. You are welcome to continue managing your investments on your own or you can choose to work with our team. We recommend discussing the pros and cons of each with your Financial Advisor. We do not pressure clients to take advantage of this service but offer it as an optional add-on for those who do not have the time or the desire to manage their investments on their own. As Planned Ahead is a part of Godsey & Gibb Wealth Management, a wealth management firm with 35+ years of experience navigating complex markets, any investments are managed by Godsey & Gibb’s in-house investment team. This team includes a Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Managers & and Research Analysts. While you may only ever speak with your Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager, this team works together to manage all portfolios across Planned Ahead and Godsey & Gibb.
Will you help optimize my 401k or other employer-sponsored retirement plan?
Yes! While our investment team does not assist with your 401k, your Financial Advisor will work with you to review plan documents, ensure you are taking full advantage of any available employer match, help you determine if you could afford to contribute more, and review your investment options to ensure you are invested appropriately per your needs and risk tolerance.
How can I make sure my investments are aligned with my risk tolerance and financial goals?
Ensuring your investments align with your risk tolerance and financial goals involves a comprehensive review of your portfolio and a risk tolerance assessment. We can assess your current investments, considering factors such as market performance, diversification, and your time horizon. We will help you understand whether your portfolio’s risk level matches your comfort zone and long-term objectives. If adjustments are needed, your advisor will recommend changes to optimize your asset allocation, balancing potential returns with your ability to withstand market fluctuations. This personalized approach helps keep your investments on track to meet your financial goals.
Looking for someone else to manage your investments for you?
We offer investment management services through Godsey & Gibb’s in-house investment team. As a Planned Ahead client, we are able to waive Godsey & Gibb’s minimum investment requirement. Talk to your advisor to learn more!
